Academic and Administrative Services
The Academic and Administrative Services office supports student-oriented services with particular emphasis on undergraduates but extending to university-wide issues involving the graduate and professional schools. The office also oversees academic policy documentation including the Faculty Handbook and accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the United Methodist Church. From 2007 - 2009, the Office is coordinating the University's re-accreditation process by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association.
The office is additionally responsible for:
- performing the functions of chief of staff for the Provost
- undertaking special projects involving task forces, research and report writing
- designing and implementing such special programs as orientation for new faculty
- conducting reviews and searches
- overseeing the Talent Identification Program
- serving as representative to the COFHE Assembly
- administering the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award
