Interim Vice Provost for Finance and Administration

Amy Oates was appointed Interim Vice Provost for Finance and Administration on January 1, 2023.  Oates is responsible for overseeing human resources, finance and faculty affairs activities within the Provost’s area.

Oates previously served in senior finance and administration roles within the Provost’s area, central administration and School of Medicine for more than 35 years.  She retired in 2020 as associate vice provost for finance and administration. 

Oates received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
